This is Bollywood's most popular romantic drama. Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu is directed by Shujaa Ali Khan and stars Shahrukh Khan with Anushka Sharma, Preity Zinta, and Arjun Rampal. The story revolves around two people whose lives are bound by the same five years. One of them starts with an auspicious day, while the other ends on a bad day. The former starts with getting into love, while the latter ends with betrayal. All the five years are about these two people, who change the lives of others. The movie also revolves around five years, which involved many other people. These other characters include Anjali (Anushka Sharma), Meenu (Shefali Shah), Rahul (Rajiv Randhawa), Samrath (Sunny Deol) and Roshni (Konkona Sen Sharma). Lakshya (Shahrukh Khan) is an orphan who lives with his aunt and uncle in Mumbai. He is very intelligent yet he prefers to remain unemployed. He saves up for his aunt's (Preity Zinta) medical expenses when she suffers from cardiac arrest. Seeing this, Anjali (Anushka Sharma), a nurse in the hospital, helps him complete his graduation, which he had dropped. She also marries him in the end to save money. As their wedding approaches, Lakshya finds out that one of his relatives has cheated him during their matrimony settlement. He is even more furious when he finds out that his aunt received compensation money in lieu of her injury. He decides to take revenge by destroying the marriage of Anjali who is also arranged to marry another man. This leaves the bride speechless and confused about what to do. Meanwhile, Meenu (Shefali Shah), Lakshya's aunt is the ex-girlfriend of Rahul (Arjun Rampal), who just got his divorce. Meenu encourages Rahul to get back with his ex-wife Roshni, who was against their marriage when she found out he was already married. After this, Anjali finds out that Lakshya is the same person for whom she had left her fiancé Samrath (Sunny Deol) and also stole money from her father. Still, she decides to go ahead with the marriage because of the trust and love she has for him. The movie ends on a happy note, with Rahul and Roshni getting back together, Meenu finally settling down with Samrat, Lakshya's aunt recovering from her injury, and Anjali living happily with the man she loves.The film received universally positive reviews from critics. Filmfare rated it 5 out of 5. Nikhat Kazmi of The Times of India gave Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu 3.5 stars out of 4, writing "This film's heart is in the right place".
